Escape from Toulon

Hello There! after being persuaded to be sociable I went to the New Buckenham Historical Wargamers Club. I was not expecting to get a game as I had not clicked 'going' on the club Facebook page but there were some spaces to take part in the above game.

As you can see these Langton ships have been very well made by Paul.

The scenario was a British fleet had to stop a French breakout from the port of Toulon. The French were escorting a line of Merchant vessels and they had to get off the other end of the table.

One corner of the table represented the French port.

The rules used were Blood, Bilge and Iron Balls. These made for a very quick and enjoyable game which fitted easily into the evening club meeting.

Further photos are on the club facebook page here.

The Guide by Jean-Louis Ernest Meissonier

Hello There! I spotted this print on Facebook Market Place a few months ago. The frame and print are in good condition and there were no smudges or stains which you see on many prints of this age.

This is the sort of thing you see hanging on the wall in a posh hotel or olde World cottage. I was really pleased to see it for sale and was cheap as well.

I tried to get a good photo of the detail, despite the reflection and glare from day light, but as you can see this is a lovely picture!

This now takes pride of place in my hallway and is out of direct sunlight so should stay in good condition for many tears to come.
