New 'Logistics' Figures

Hello There! I have managed to complete a few more figures to add to my collection of mule trains for my proposed feature on 'Logistics'

First up a new cantiniere. This is from Warlord Games and I purchased it from a 'new', well new to me, wargames shop in Great Yarmouth here. The shop holds a very wide selection of new and second items and models and holds the biggest selection of Vallejo paints I have ever seen.

I had not seen either of these models before, thinking that the 'carrot' and 'stick' models were the only offerings from Warlord.

Brigade Models also make a cantiniere with a cart and that is also in the painting queue.

Post Script: I have recently read that Nigel, the owner of Norfolk Boardgames, Wargames and Collectables recently passed away. This is a great shock as he was a very helpful person indeed when I met him. The business will continue when Nigels family have some time to deal with their bereavement.

Warlord Games 'Stick' Mule Train

Hello There! I have completed the second Warlord mule train offering. It has the same mules but the muleteer is different.

Again I have replaced the reins as there was nothing on the moulding itself. Here I used old flower arranging wire painted in white enamel then acrylic.

According to the Warlord Games website illustration this figure wears a British coat and I added various colours to make the figure stand out more.

Here are the two sets together. I have also purchased further sets from Warlord Games including a French cantiniere and a different mule train. The latter has a different mix of mule loads and has a fat killed pig loaded!

I have a number of  items to complete for the planned feature for WSS including some items from  Brigade Games which are expected soon.

Warlord Games 'Carrot' Mule Train

Hello There. This is another model that has languished on the painting table for a while.

This Warlord Games model was bought at Their stand at Salute a number of years ago. I also got the companion 'stick' and have nearly completed that.

Both are intended for a feature for WSS about logistics and their absence in wargaming games. This seem strage to me as in the real World logistics is of paramount importance but is largely ignored completely.

I have since found a further cantiniere and mule train which are also on the work bench and will also be subjects of the feature, 'fluff' on a large games table and suitable for the skirmish project as well.
