Diceni Wargaming Show, 2025

Hello There! On the last Bank Holiday weekend, the local Forum in Norwich held a gaming show. This is now an annual event and covers all forms of gaming, wargaming and board games.

As its all encompassing description suggests, the cliental for this even is eclectic!

There were not many wargames clubs represented but the source of the wargamers from the New Buckenham Historical wargamers, the Coltishall Cowards, put a game on for the show.

Their game was very neat and well presented and provided a friendly approachable game with players open to discussion with others gamers and the public alike.

Perrys plastic Hundred Years War ranges were out in force!

While I did not get the name of the club that put on this game I was interested in the way they reprsented the ground in their terrain tiles. It looked like finely cut card and paper mashed into a layer and mixed with paint before being layered on the scenery. it did look effective and appeared as a dried mud/ground.

Now onto the New Buckenham historical Wargamers who put on a small display of Boudicca's last battle.

It used 28mm figures from a number of club members collections and a number of different suppliers. While this able was tucked away in a corner of the forum there was a lot of public interest, the same as the Coltishall Cowards game.

While this show was not aimed at exclusively wargamers, there was some traders and games present that made it worth going to. Add the fact that entry was free and you could meet some fellow gamers that did not already have experience of historical wargaming was interesting.
